RFQ Questions

What file formats can I upload with my RFQ?

We accept PDF, STEP, STP, DWG, DXF, ZIP, PNG, JPG, JPEG, XLSX, and DOCX. For 3D CAD files, STEP format is preferred. For 2D drawings, PDF is recommended. If your files are in another format, note it in the message field and we will follow up.

How quickly will Oakmet respond to an RFQ?

We aim to acknowledge all RFQs within one business day and provide initial feedback or follow-up questions within two to three business days. Complex programs requiring internal review may take additional time, but we will communicate timeline expectations early.

Do I need to provide a drawing to submit an RFQ?

A drawing is preferred but not required to begin the conversation. If you have a drawing or 3D model, uploading it helps us provide more specific feedback. For early-stage inquiries where a drawing is not yet finalized, you can describe requirements in the message field and we will follow up with clarifying questions.

Does Oakmet require an NDA before reviewing drawings?

You can indicate in the RFQ form if you require an NDA before detailed drawing review. Oakmet is willing to execute mutual NDAs for programs that require confidentiality protection. Note the request in your submission and we will send an NDA for review before proceeding.

Can Oakmet quote both prototype quantities and production volumes?

Yes. We can quote prototype or first-article quantities, bridge quantities, and full production volume separately or together. Many customers engage us for sampling first and then transition to production. You can indicate your volume expectations in the RFQ form.
